Wonderful trip in Peru with South Adventure Peru Tours!!!!
I am just a day away from returning to my home on Vancouver Island, Canada, and am honestly sad to be leaving Peru so soon. I booked a trip to Peru on a complete whim a few months ago with minimal knowledge of what to do or where to go. All that I knew was that I wanted to see Macchu Picchu and the Peruvian Amazon basin. Some friend's recomended a Cuzco based travel agency called South Adventure Peru Tours, so I emailed them to find out more. Within a week of emails and questions from my end the owner operators of the agency, Ruben Coronado and lovely wife Tatiana helped me put together the most perfect adventure travel package that I could imagine. Upon arrival to the Cuzco airport, I was met by the both of them with no wait, and for that matter, every time I left or arrived back to Cuzco they were there to either see me off or pick me up. What a lovely and professional family. In my adventures I trekked the famous Inca trail for four days to Macchu Picchu, flew to Southern Peru´s Amazon basin and spent four days touring around a tributary to the Amazon River called the Rio Madre del Dios in a trusty Amazon river long boat, staying in a very comfortable lodge called the Tambo Jungle Lodge, viewed Capybaras, Macaw, Caymans, Giant Amazon Otters, and way to many beautiful plants and animals to include. Ruben and his wife Tatiana and little Jordan took me in and even allowed me the honor of having a wonderfully prepared lunch at their house in San Blas, located near their office and my hotel in a beautiful district of Cuzco. I will be coming back to Peru as often as time allows, because upon arriving with no expectations, I have found the people here to kind and selfless. The blend of cultures, fantastic food, historic places, Inca ruins, beautiful flora and fauna, and over all, the kindness of the people have made an impact on me that has rendered me a different person than I was when I left Canada only a few weeks ago.

During our time in Cusco, any trips outside of the city we arranged through South Adventure Peru and we're so glad that we did. First of all, everyone from Ruben to his wife and the rest of their staff was extremely personable and we enjoyed the time that we were able to spend talking with them and learning about the area. They arranged all of our trip through the Sacred Valley, Machupicchu and some of the ruins directly around Cusco (those were on horseback) and didn't just do a superb job getting everything set on short notice but went above and beyond, what we ever expected. For example, they booked us more expensive train tickets at no extra cost to us simply because the advertised tickets had sold out on Peru Rail, they dropped us off at our airport when we left, and they even arranged for us to have a bagged lunch for our day visiting Machupicchu. Really wonderful people who run a fantastic business……..What also excited us was to hear about the community work that they do in the Lares Valley. Having travelled through the region for many years, they decided to establish relationships with communities in the area and have been helping for a number of years now. Most exciting about this work is that many of the guides that they employ are from these communities and the relationships go beyond just giving material aid in the harshest months of the year and longer-term community projects. Before we left we were able to talk with them about their general philosophy towards the help that they give, their view of many foreign NGO's, and most importantly about the challenges that face members of these communities. Having gotten to understand the nature of their work better, we left very happy that 10% of their company's income goes directly to these community projects. Overall, VERY highly recommended!!

The two of us were staying for a second week in Peru after the rest of our group left, and decided to give Ruben and Tatiana's company a chance. Ideas were exchanged before we arrived through emails back and forth, and Ruben was very accommodating to our needs and time lines. When we met at their office, everything was explained clearly to us beforehand. We were very impressed by their attention and punctuality to even the smallest of details (pick ups, drop offs, guides) along the way as we traveled to Puno, Lake Titicaca (kayaking, Uros, Lake Taquile) and Cusco (cycling). Not knowing the language or area, we very much appreciated having the guides with us every step of the way.They even picked us up from our hostel and drove us to the airport at to cost to us. “Amazing Trekking Tour”
My friend and I took this tour; we went from the Lares Valley to Machu Picchu. We had a very nice experience where I enjoyed the peruvian nature and landscapes. We also camped in very small villages where we had the opportunity to meet the local people and to know more about their lifestyle. Best Travel Decision You Will Make”
Ruben and the entire team at South Adventure Peru Tours are incredible. I recently returned from Peru after enjoying several treks all planned and set up to perfection by Ruben. The communication was great we had everything ready to go weeks in advance all via phone and internet from Canada. I highly reccomend the Lares Trek, our guide Orlando was the best guide I have ever had for any trip anywhere in the world. They are a great company to deal with they are one of if not the best value of any agency and they give a percentage of that to a relief fund. I truely can't say enough good about my experinces with South Adventure Peru Tours and look forward to my return to Peru..

“Very reliable, good prices and great guide!!”
I don't usually take organized tours on my trips but this time we were travelling with our two kids, and the idea was to make the most out of our time so we took a two full day tour of the Sacred Valley with this company, covering Pisac, Ollantataytambo, Maras salt mines, Moray and Chincheros. Ruben, the owner, was great in organising everything, with the flexibility we required (we started off from Cusco, then spent the night in Yanahuara, and then the next day back to Cusco), and we even a had a short pre-trip briefing with our guide, Victor Hugo, the day before starting off.Victor Hugo our outstanding guide and driver, punctually picked us up and we were off. Everything was perfect and we all had a fun and were amazed with the worksmanship of the Incas. Victor Hugo showed great knowledge of the history and legends of all the places we visited, and we all learnt a lot!! Their prices were reasonable and they were 100% reliable. Absolutely recommended!!

“Highly reliable and recommendable”
I don't usually travel with organised tours, but for sure, if you are going to, South Adventures is the best option! Besides, if you really want to see as many things as possible, for example, in the Sacred Valley, it is much easier and saves time with a tour. Ruben, his wife and all the people working at South Adventure, are really nice. They don't try to cheat you, they give you valuable advice on what is worth doing and what isn't. Everything is absolutely tied toghether up to the smallest detail. You don't have to worry at all about anything and you can be sure that everything that they have told you is true.We saw people who had been abandoned at the train station when their agency had said they were going to be picked up, wereas we had no doubt that someone of South Adventure would be there for us.
I highly recommend it to anyone who is going to visit Cuzco and surroundings.

“Fantastic service”
I never take organized tours on my trips but I was traveling with my parents and decided it would be the best way to go. I could not be happier to have chosen South Adventures to organize everything for us. Ruben and his wife Tatiana went out of their way to make us feel at ease and explained everything in utter detail. If a tour is not worth it or it is not the best season to do it they will also let you know. We went to the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca with their company. Everything was perfect and I was amazed by their punctuality. They also went out of their way when we left our passports in Puno and organized everything so that we could get them back on time for our flight for no extra cost.Their prices were reasonable and they were 100% reliable. Also, they donate 10% of all their income to less fortunate communities which is a great project they have going on.
I highly recommend them if you plan to take any tours or treks in Cusco!

“Amazing Tour”
We booked a tour of the Sacred Valley at the last minute--no problem. Ruben and his wife met us at the Monasterio for a cocktail and to introduce us to our guide, the amazing Marco Antonio Bustamonte. Early the next morning, Marco and a driver met us for a wonderful visit to the valley, a comprehensive history lesson, a terrific lunch, personal introductions to friends etc. Back at the hotel by 6:30 to receive phone call from Ruben to make sure all went well. “Amazing Inca Trail, organized brilliantly”
We booked our 4day/3night traditional Inca Trail with South Adventure Peru Tours due to the great reviews on tripadvisor. We emailed Ruben (the owner) and had a really informative email in response, not hiding anything about the trail or the costs involved. This response was received very quickly. When we arrived in Cusco we went to see Ruben to pay the remaining balance, it was then that we learnt that he had found no-one else to join us on the trail and so we had a private trail at the same cost! The actual 4 days of the Inca trail was run flawlessly, we had a fantastic guide - also called Ruben, and 5 porters to carry all the tents and equipment, this has to be seen to be believed! On the return to Cusco Ruben was there with the driver to check how it all went, and treated us, as he had the whole time, as old friends. We booked our tourist bus down to Puno with Ruben as well, and he was there picking us up at the hostel at 7am, to get us to the bus station and get us ready to go.I cannot recommend South Adventure Peru Tours highly enough. I just wish they covered the whole world and could organise anymore trips we do for the rest of the year!

We booked a private tour of sacred valley with a different iterinery than what is normally offered. Rueben was happy to accommodate that at a competitive price. We had an excellent guide victor Hugo for the duration of the tour. They also take people on the inca trail which we did not do. But we heard good things about them while at Cuzco.

“Wow! Just lay back and enjoy the ride, Cusco has so much to see and do”
I`ve been looking forward to visiting Machu Picchu and doing the Inca Trail for many years, after doing my research i found Ruben owner of one of the best travel agencies in Cusco called South Adventure Peru tours. What a guy he took very good care of us, both on and off the trail, i had tons of questions about the culture and activities. Ruben was able to answer in perfect English to all my questions. I also wanted to do some volunteer work he took me to child orphanages and we dropped of fruit and some warm cloth donations. I totally recommend doing the 5 day Inca trail with Ruben, i am very picky about my food and camping equipment but found great food catered to my needs, along with brand new camping equipment.
