Itinerary of Tour.
Day 1: Your Guide will pick you up at 6:00 am and take you to the train station of Poroy - the train leaves at 7:40 am. After a 4-hour journey of majestic views you arrive at Aguas Calientes (Hot Springs Town) where you will spend the night. There will be plenty of time to relax if you want to have a hot bath in the natural springs!!!
The train ride consist is an spectacular views along the way in this wonderful land of the Incas, amazing landscapes of mountains and valleys, Inca farming terraces, in both sides of the valley, snow capped mountains, and sub-tropical jungle near the Ceja de Selva. From Pachar the sacred Vilcanota river will be our company untill the end. Aguas Calientes town is set in 2,040 mts and is the closest access point to Machupicchu. You will continue the last 30 minutes by train to the end of the line in Aguas Calientes train Station, where the representative will pick you up then you will be transferred to your hotel VARAYOC.or another similar one.
Afternoon free time to wander around the markets and settle in. Buffet Lunch and Dinner will be provided. If you would like you can hike to the Mandor Waterfall, climb to Putucusi Mountain or just relax walking the plaza, where artists and handicraft vendors settled.
Other things to do around Aguas calientes on first Day.
Visit the Machu Picchu ‘Manuel Chávez Ballón’ museum and orchid exhibition ($5 or 20 soles). This is open from 9am to 4.30pm and is a 35 minute walk down the road to Puente Ruinas. It is a very illustrative museum that gives an interesting introduction to Machu Picchu. (It’s worth it!) You could go to the termal baths-these cost is 10 soles . there are lockers that you can use to store your belongings cost aprox.1 sol.
Day 2: After breakfast your Guide will get you on the first bus (6.00am) up to Machu Picchu. You will have a guided tour (approximately 3-4 hours) and then plenty of time to explore the mysterious city by yourself.
The transport it us up to the top 2,400 mts, It only takes 25-30 minutes After of crossing the old bridge it will be a series of curving and curving driving in the middle of a low jungle with fern trees and wild orchids and flowers from the last part of the road it will be very visible the massif mountain of Huaynapicchu
Other things to do around Machupicchu on the second day.
• You can climb Huayna Picchu mountain 2700 m ( 90 Min ); (the mountain behind Machu Picchu). It takes 45 minutes to reach the top and the view from the top over Machu Picchu is worth it. (There is a limit of 400 people who are permitted to climb this, so if you want to do it, it is good to go immediately after your tour.) From the top of this mountain you can also walk down to the Moon Temple (a cave). It takes 45 more minutes to get there and from there, a further hour walk to get back to Machu Picchu itself.
• Walk up to the Sun Gate (45 minutes to 1 hour).
• Walk to the Inca Bridge (40 minutes).
You will take the bus down to the town of Aguas Calientes which is not included its about 45minutes to an hour to walk through low jungle to Aguas Calientes or you can just pay for a tickets there ( $7 ) . Return by Tourist Train to Cusco (or train to Ollantaytambo them Private Bus to Cusco. train station you will be picked up and taken to your Hotel.
