Important info to climb to Waynapicchu after the end of your guided tour.- In order to guarantee your permit to Huayna Picchu and if you definitely wants to climb to this wonderful highest peak of Machu Picchu , we suggest book in advance before it runs out of spaces and you must pay extra US$12 per person (schedule of entrances : first entrance 7:00 am to 8:00 am / Second entrance: 10:00am to 11:00 am) since 2011 ,the entrance to Wayna picchu has been limited which is really important that you must book in advance to avoid disappointments.
If for any reason you made the reservation the tour at the last minute and the entrance to Waynapicchu were sold out, here some alternative hikes around the santuary of Machu Picchu. Hike to Intipunku.- this is end of the Inca Trail after 4 Days which is the Sun Gate from where you can enjoy one of the spectacular view and you can make the best photo . Hike to the Inca Bridge.- located at south from Machupicchu from where you can enjoy one of the spectacular view and you can make the best photo. Hike to the Inca bridge located at south of Machu Picchu ,all these walks will be arranged by your own and we recommend pick up the map of Machu picchu at the check point and it will be easy to find every mentioned places.
After the guided tour , your guide will inform you where and when to use your bus ticket for the journey back down to Aguas Calientes to collect your luggage from the Hotel. He will also provide you with the necessary details for the afternoon train return to Cusco. Train schedule depend of the kind of train booked (Expedition train depart at 4:43pm / Arrives to Cusco around 8:20pm (Vista dome or Luxury train depart at 3:20pm / Arrives to Cusco around 7:10pm)
Itinerary of our 2 Day Tour to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu:
Day01: Cusco – Traditonal market of Qorao – Alpaca Farm to see Lamas , Alpacas and Vicunas Pisac Market & Ruins – Urubamaba for Buffet Lunch -Ollantaytambo and overnight in Aguas Calientes..-At 8am you will be picked up from hotel in Cusco and start the completely guide tour to the lovely Sacred Valley of the Incas.This tour includes visit the traditional market of Qorao, Alpaca Farm . You will continue with the guided tour we arrive to Andean native markets and ruins of Pisac and Calca. The tour goes along the Sacred Valley following by lunch in Urubamba town. The last place to visit in this day will be the beautiful Inca village and fortress of Ollantaytambo. Around 4pm or 7:00pm ( depend of your train schedule ) aboard the train to Aguas Calientes, the bottom town of Machu Picchu. If time permit OPTIONAL visit the termal baths located next of town (US$4 for entrance). Overnight in a comfortable HOTEL with Private Bathroom, Hot Shower and Breakfast the next day (Buffet Lunch in Urubamba and Dinner in Ollantaytambo will be provided by South Adventure)
Day02: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Guided Tour – Cusco.-First Option: At 4:30am breakfast and begin of 2 hours climb to Machu Picchu archaeological site (2500m).Second Option:At 5am breakfast and half hour later aboard the first tourist bus to drop us to Machu Picchu main door, and to be the first visitors inside Machu Picchu archaeological site you will have complete guided tour during 3 Hours of this spectacular and mystical place. The guided tour include walk through the different section such as the urban sector, the agriculture sector, and the religions zone was used by the Inca Culture..After to get 3 Hours guided tour in Machu Picchu you will have free time to explore by yourself. According with the time and your feeling you can coordinating with the tour guide climb to Huayna Picchu (Young Mountain : extra payment US$12 per person and must be booked in advance ) if you already have your permits , don`t forget let know to your tour guide before end of the guided.
